This was by far some of the best fried chicken that I've ever had, and the fried mushrooms were certainly the best that I've ever had. The mushrooms were succulent morsels that had found an incredible balance between a slightly crispy exterior and a soft interior, with a slightly unusual, but thoroughly enjoyable, balanced amount of buttermilk taste and earthy undertones. I was eating the tenders so quickly that I had to slow down and pace myself; the breading was the perfect thickness and seasoning was flavorful without being excessive or overpowering. Inside, the chicken was juicy, moist, and pulled apart in evenly cooked strands. I would absolutely recommend this establishment to any locals, friends or family, and I will visit again for another helping if time allows.

Was little late opening due to weather which was understandable. Ordered the 3 piece went with a breast and 2 legs, comes with a biscuit and added a side of fries. The owner offered me some fried mushrooms while I waited which was super nice of him, they were amazing, great seasoning and breading. The chicken is super crispy and seasoned well, the inside was very juicy. The breast is huge. Fries were cooked perfectly nice and crispy.

Best chicken I’ve had in a looooong time. Tenders: spicy doesn’t make my brow sweat but it’s got that kick. Regular are perfectly seasoned and juicy delicious. Corn fritters are a must have - took extra to go. Mushrooms, cole slaw and biscuits were all SO FREAKING GOOD. This place is a gold mine. Alcohol and great music, too!! The service was really patient and attentive and fun to talk to! Please come here and enjoy - will be absolutely worth it!

This was a perfect example of fr the heart cooking, I was sold when I was told with great concern that, I hope you don't mind waiting I will make it for you.... I thought myself, and take your time out loud I said with a smile. He returned with, would you like a beer on me. Sorry for the mo pic's. I ate it all!! Photos would do it mo justice, just well crafted crispy supper moist chicken Loving made fresh.. WOW this Mother Clucking Chicken Joint and staff are doing all the right things, a must do, Again!! I drove by two other places before landing here, having on eating all day. I am so glad I waited so lone, the 15 minute wait, was worth it! Everyone was very nice. The chicken sandwich was excellent! Moist, excellent flavor, fresh bun... Would definitely order again. The onion rings were good. Would I order again? Not sure. The woman working at the counter brought us some of the battered mushrooms to try. Very good, definitely would order again.

WOW! Super great chicken, handmade cocktails, and friendly informative service. This is a small place attached to a gas station with 2 tables, a counter with bar stools, and 3 gambling games. Clean and bright. Food is ordered at the front counter and delivered to your table. Chicken is crunchy, juicy, and meaty! No dinky pieces here. It's cooked to order, so it comes out piping hot. We were told it's fried in beef tallow to get it super crispy. Fries and onion rings made to order as well. No cold limp sides like you get at fast food joints. Cole slaw is crisp and fresh, too. Cocktails are handmade. We had delicious margaritas made with fresh lime juice, repasado tequilla, and ice balls. No mix! It's better than most bars. For only 10. Will be our neighborhood chicken joint from now on. Next time, we will try the homemade mashed potatoes and chicken livers. They're pretty new. So please check it out. We want them to be around forever.

If you blink cruising down highway 41, you'll miss this place. Just keep your eyes peeled for the Shell truck stop. The owner of mother cluckers, Jimmy, is on to something pretty good. I can't say it's the best chicken I've ever had in my life, because I've eaten a lot of chicken down south, and also drink a lot of sweet tea and eating a lot of mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. But, up here, this is absolutely the best fried chicken, because it's actually fried chicken, not broasted chicken, not pressure cooked chicken, it's fried! Not overly spiced, not dipped in a bucket of salt, not cooked to the point of shoe leather, huge pieces, kind of like baby turkeys, lol! And if you're just picking up to go, they're shrimp is delicious and so were there mushrooms and Italian beef. The bar area is well stocked, and they have video gaming there which really makes it a tight fit on busy nights. They are going to cater for us on a repast. About 500 pieces of chicken, enough beef to serve 400 people, it's fresh and delicious. Drop in and see Jimmy and his one of a kind chicken. He actually grew up in an area of Chicago that I did, right on Devon and Sheridan. A lot of African restaurants around that area. Be glad he relocated up this way.
